Humanities students were archaeologists for a day, gaining firsthand experience with archaeology by reconstructing clay pots!
Students decorated and then broke their pots into pieces, which were then mixed to simulate an archaeological excavation. Students had to pull out the pieces of their pot and put it back together. This class taught students how difficult it is to reconstruct history from incomplete material remains, while enhancing how important archaeology has been in digging up so much of the world’s history!
