A native of Chicago, Illinois, Louise attended college and received her BS degree at SUNY New Paltz in business, accounting and computer science. After college, Louise worked as a programmer for IBM’s finance department in Kingston, New York. While living in New York, she served as a financial advisor on the board of the New York Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She and her husband, Doug, eventually moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, where Louise served in a variety of volunteer positions while raising her son, Charles, and daughter, Sheri. Along with her extensive volunteer work at her children’s schools, Durham Academy and Cary Academy, which included acting as treasurer for the parents’ associations, Louise was involved for twenty years with the Le Leche League of North Carolina, serving three years as state treasurer for that organization. She is currently working as the financial officer for a small LLC in Chapel Hill. Her daughter, Sheri, graduated from Oliverian in 2008, and attended college in North Carolina. Louise spends her free time traveling, gardening, and reading.
