We are delighted to have students return from spring break! Spring is in full swing here in Pike; birds are singing, green grass is poking through the soil, and even the salamanders are out and about! Any Oliverian alums out there remember Save Our Salamanders? Oliverian has the yearly tradition of saving our yellow spotted salamanders as they migrate from the highlands to low level vernal pools. These little critters are known as “solar salamanders” for their photosynthetic abilities. We hit the roads at night moving these awesome creatures safely off the road so they can continue with their mission of laying eggs.
