Olis Lend a Helping Hand
April 26, 2018

When Oliverian student Lily Enzinna decided to volunteer for a local homeless shelter, her fellow Olis were eager to help.

At Oliverian, how students spend their time outside of the classroom is just as important as how they spend it within. Whether it’s developing leadership skills through adventure-based education or building a sense of community in one of our student clubs, Olis don’t stop learning just because they’re not sitting at a desk.

So when Oliverian student Lily Enzinna decided she wanted to volunteer at The Upper Valley Haven homeless shelter, she learned first-hand how young people can effectively support charitable organizations. Lily collected funds, shopped for food, cooked meals, and served them to those in need. Thanks to her tight-knit Oliverian community, she wasn’t alone: Lily’s peers turned out to donate their time to a good cause — and had fun doing it!

In Lily’s own words, “Thank you to everyone who donated to The Upper Valley Haven GoFundMe. It was an amazing experience and no one set the fire alarms off so it was good. Here are pictures of what you made happen by funding. We appreciate it so so much!”
